Road Transport Training

Road Transport training, through the Road Transport Traineeship, provides a cost-effective opportunity for employers to train and develop new and existing staff. Participants training in Road Transport will develop the knowledge and skills necessary for the successful operation of Road Transport operations.

The Road Transport training through the Road Transport courses offered can be structured around your business' specific needs. Participants receive competency-based training through self-paced workplace program. This can include manual handling training. Skilled Workplace conducts this training in the workplace, taking into account the busy and slower periods in your business’ activity. Road Transport Traineeships will require successful completion of Certificates II and III in Transport and Distribution (Road Transport).

TDT20102 Certificate II in Transport and Distribution (Road Transport).

This course is designed to introduce participants to a career in the Road Transport industry. The course covers Road Transport basics; participants will learn how to handle cargo/stock, maintain your vehicle, carry out a range of duties in a warehouse and deliver goods. Participants will also learn about occupational health and safety, communication skills and customer service.

It is also a preparation for more specialised responsibilities undertaken by employees in the Road Transport industry,

TDT31002 Certificate III in Transport and Distribution (Road Transport).

This Road Transport course is designed to assist in developing the participant’s Road Transport career. This qualification is part of the Transport and Distribution Training Package, Road Transport stream. It is for people who want to be drivers in the road transport industry. You will acquire the skills needed for driving heavy vehicles. You will also learn about load handling, navigation and route planning, occupational health and safety, workplace communications, and working effectively with others.
